Full Itinerary:

Day 01: Saturday 04 October: Casablanca/Rabat

Arrival at Casablanca Airport by flight.

Upon arrival, and after clearing immigration and customs formalities, you will be met and proceed to explore this economic capital of Morocco and its largest city. First, stop at the famous Hassan II Mosque, the landmark mark of the city with the tallest minaret in the world (210 meters). Next, visit the Ain Diab Corniche, one of the city’s most fashionable districts.

After the tour, you will be driven to Rabat (approx. 95kms/1.5hrs), the capital of Morocco and one of the country’s imperial cities.

Day 02: Sunday 05 October: Rabat/Chefchaouen

Morning pick-up from your hotel and proceed to visit Kasbah of the Oudayas, which

was constructed during the realm of Almohads dynasty (12th century).

Next, visit the mausoleum of Mohammed V, which is home to the tombs of the current king's father and grandfather. Also, visit Hassan Tower, a minaret built in 1195.

Later, you will be driven to Chefchaouen (approx. 250kms/4hrs), also known as the “Blue City” and one of the majestic places to visit in Morocco.

Upon arrival, proceed to explore the kasbah of Chefchaouen, which belongs to the early 18th century and built by the legendary ruler Moulay Ismail (1645 – 1727).

Next, visit the Plaza Uta El-Hammam, the cobbled main square in town where the striking 15th century Grand Mosque sits.

After the tour, you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 03: Monday 06 October: Chefchaouen/Volubilis/Meknes/Fes

Today, you will be picked up from your hotel and driven to Fes (approx. 210kms/3.5hrs), the spiritual capital of Morocco.

You will be stopped enroute to visit the UNESCO sponsored Roman ruins in Volubilis, a Berber and Roman city partly excavated by the UNESCO. This archaeological site was considered as the ancient capital of the Kingdom of Mauretania. The city was developed from the 3rdcentury BC onwards as an Amazigh, then proto-Carthaginian; and from the 1st century AD onwards, the city grew rapidly under the Roman rule.

Next, stop at Meknes, the "Moroccan Versailles" and one of the oldest cities in the kingdom. The city was the capital of Morocco under the reign of Moulay Ismail(1672–1727), a contemporary of Louis XIV. Explore the massive Bab El Mansour gate, the grandest of all imperial Moroccan gateways; and Hri Souani, a complex of three different buildings built for granaries and stables. This amazing site has been used as a scene for many films, the most famous of which is probably “The Last Temptation of Christ” in 1988 by Martin Scorsese.

Day 04: Tuesday 07 October: Fes

Morning pick-up from your hotel and proceed to walk through the largest royal palace in Morocco, and continue with a panoramic view of the ancient media. Enjoy an authentic experience at the traditional ceramic crafts village of Fes.

Next, visit the Fes el-Bali, an ancient town or Medina, which is a medieval part of Fes that has not changed for centuries.

Later, visit the famous Al-Karaouine mosque, built by Fatima Al Fihria in 857. Al[1]Karaouine mosque became home to the University of Al-Karaouine, which is the first university in the world and the world's foremost center of learning at the beginning of the second millennium. The university was built by Fatima Al Fihria in 859, since then it has become one of the leading spiritual and educational centers of the Muslim world. In the medina, also visit a Merdersa which is a Coranic school.

Conclude the day with your visit to the leather Souq and oldest Leather Tannery in the world. The tannery dates back at least nine centuries.

After the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Day 05: Wednesday 08 October: Fes/Ifrane/Midelt/Erfoud/Merzouga

Today, you will be picked up from your hotel and driven to Merzouga (approx. 460kms/7hrs), also known as the “Heart of the Desert”.

The journey takes you through the Middle Atlas Mountains via the Sahara Desert, and you will be stopped enroute to visit Ifrane, a charming town and ski resort. This town is famous for its Alpine climate, European[1]style houses, and its 1665 meters (5,460 feet) in elevation. The town experiences snow during winter months and a cool climate during summer. Ifrane is also the place where the lowest temperature was ever recorded in Africa, -24 °C in 1935. While in Ifrane, expect to find animals like the threatened Barbary Macaque, and local tree species such as the native Atlas cedar, Scrub oak and the introduced London plane.

Next, stop at Midelt, which serves as the commercial center of a large agricultural hinterland.

Later, pass through many Amazigh (Berber) villages along the Ziz valley to reach Erfoud, and enjoy a 4x4 jeep ride to Merzouga.

Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. Your accommodation in Merzouga: One night including breakfast.

In the evening, enjoy a sunset camel ride to the camp near the sand dunes.

Dinner will be served at the camp.

Day 6: Thursday 09 October: Merzouga/Tinghir/Dades

Today, you will be picked up from your camp and driven to Dades (approx. 270kms/4hrs), also known as the “Valley of Figs”. The drive is spectacular, winding through stunning desert landscapes, villages with the expansive Jebel Sarhro lunar-scape. Dades Valley was featured prominently in a 2012 advertisement for the Cadillac CTS.

You will be stopped enroute to visit Tinghir via Rissani and Tinjdad. This charming town is a hidden gem in the heart of Morocco with the gorgeous 40 kilometers oasis, that boasts one of the largest palm groves in the country.

Also, explore the famous Todra Gorges, a 300 meters wall, carved deep into the High Atlas Mountains. Thanks to its robust rock sides with many uneven surfaces, Todra Gorges are popular among the rock climbers. More than 150 routes rated French Grade 5+ to 8 have been bolted in the canyon, and featured on the premiere of the United States’ reality show, “Expedition Impossible”.

Day 07: Friday 10 October: Dades/Ouarzazate/Ait Ben Haddou/Marrakech

Today, you will be picked up from your hotel and driven to Marrakech (approx. 350kms/6hrs) by crossing the Hight Atlas Mountains.

The route becomes a journey through time and culture due to the presence of hundreds of Kasbahs. You will be stopped enroute at Kelaat M’Gouna, a big town famous for cultivating roses that produces many fine rose-infused products.

Also, proceed to explore the city of Ouarzazate via Skoura, also known as “Morocco’s Hollywood”. First, visit Kasbah Taourirt, which is considered one of the most beautiful kasbahs in the country; and the Atlas film studios, where timeless desert landscapes were once filmed and continue to be a preferred location for capturing cinematic artworks.

Later, explore the spectacular fortress of Ait Ben Haddou. This village showcases remarkable earthen clay architecture and attained UNESCO World Heritage Site status in 1987. It is considered an iconic landscape immortalized in such films, “The Man Who Would Be King (1975)”, “Jesus of Nazareth (1977)”, “The Last Temptation of Christ (1988)”, “Gladiator (2000)”, and “Son of God (2014)”.

Day 08: Saturday 11 October: Marrakech

Morning pick-up from your hotel and proceed to enjoy the guided tour of the city, which is also known as the “Paris of the Sahara” as Winston Churchill once described.

Explore the Koutoubia Mosque, which is an old monument built under the reign of the Almohad Caliph Yaqub al-Mansur (1184–1199). This monument inspired other buildings such as the Giralda in Seville in Spain and the Hassan Tower in Rabat.

Next, visit Bahia Palace, built in the late 19th century which was intended to capture the essence of the Islamic and Moroccan style. Also, visit Saadian tombs, a site that dates back to the time of the sultan Ahmad al-Mansur (1578-1603). The tombs were discovered in 1917 and restored by the Beaux-arts service.

Later, visit the world famous Jema el-Fnaa Square, where you will enjoy amazing performance of traditional activities by storytellers, snake charmers, peddlers of traditional medicines.

Conclude the day with your visit to the bustling souks in the old medina. After the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Day 09: Sunday 12 October: Marrakech/Essaouira

Morning is free at leisure. In the afternoon, you will be driven to Essaouira (approx. 180kms/3hrs), a relatively small and easily navigable beach city.

Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 10: Monday 13 October: Essaouira

Morning pick-up from your hotel and proceed to explore this city, that has got a distinct multicultural feel, resulting from the large Portuguese, French, and Jewish populations that once called it home. Its mild climate and expansive stretches of ocean sand also place it among Morocco’s top beach towns. Essaouira’s walled medina was added to the UNESCO’s World Heritage list in 2001. Its well-preserved, and its late18thcentury fortified layout is a prime example of European military architecture in North Africa. For the visitors, the mellow atmosphere, narrow winding streets lined with colourful shops, whitewashed houses, and heavy old wooden doors make it a wonderful place to stroll.

Rest of the day is free at leisure.

Day 11: Tuesday 14 October: Essaouira/Safi/Oualidia/Casablanca

Today, you will be picked up from your hotel and driven to Casablanca (approx. 375kms/4.5hrs) via Safi, Oualidia, and El Jadida.

You will be stopped enroute to visit Safi, one of the most attractive cities in Morocco due to its long history. The city was under protectorate by the Portuguese Empire from 1488 to 1541. During this period, the Portuguese built a fortress to protect the city. Safi nowadays is the main fishing port for the country's sardine industry, and also exports phosphates, textiles and ceramics. During the Second World War, Safi was one of the landing sites for Operation Torch.

Next, proceed to explore another charming sea resort and a small village on the Atlantic coast, Oualidia. This is the ideal place to unwind and immerse in the magic of the lagoon, where the tides constantly changing back veil.

Day 12: Wednesday 15 October: Casablanca

Today, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to Casablanca Airport to connect your flight for onward destination.
